Galactic Idle is an idle 4X you play in your browser — no signup, no download.

Tap a dying colony's power grid back to life. Automate it with solar arrays, mining drills and reactors. Spend research on a real tech tree, build a fleet, and push out across a hand-drawn 20-planet galaxy — taking worlds by force or by diplomacy. Then close the tab. Your empire keeps running, and the interesting decisions are waiting when you come back.

What's in it

  • A 5-resource economy with buildings, build queues and offline progress
  • A 6-branch research tree with real prerequisites — not a flat upgrade list
  • An Upkeep economy: every planet, fleet and lab has a running cost, so growth creates pressure instead of just bigger numbers
  • A galaxy map — 20 planets, fleet power, 5-faction diplomacy that reacts to how you play
  • Expeditions: 17 sectors, timed encounters, espionage missions where ships can be lost for good
  • An Empire Dashboard with production charts, efficiency ratings and goal ETAs
  • 50 goals, adaptive music, a recovered-history lore timeline

Free, ad-free, no pay-to-win. Runs on desktop and mobile browsers.

Why I made this

I wanted an idle game where the numbers going up is the hook, not the whole point — where a bigger empire is genuinely harder to hold together, and where the systems under the tap-and-wait loop (a tech tree, diplomacy, risky missions) are deep enough to actually think about. It's built solo and updated most weeks; the devlog covers what the live analytics are teaching me about the opening. Feedback in the comments genuinely changes the next build.
